Marlborough, MA – Sophomore Halle McKinnon scored two goals and senior Sirena Alvarez made 26 saves to help lead SUNY Canton to a non-conference win over Anna Maria College 2-1 on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- McKinnon opened the scoring at 13:59 of the first period, tipping a blast from freshman Jane Pancoe past Amcats goaltender Sam Dahill.
- In the second period, McKinnon doubled the Roos lead at 16:29 when she buried a feed from behind the net by sophomore Scarlet Ditoro. Freshman Ashten Morris supplied the secondary assist on the goal.
- Hannah Tobey scored a power play goal for Anna Maria at 13:12 to ruin the shutout for Alvarez and draw the Amcats to within one 2-1. Tobey's goal was assisted by Angelina Rodriguez.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Anna Maria had a slight edge in faceoffs 34-33. The Roos were 0-for-2 on the power play while the Amcats were 1-for-4.
- Pancoe now leads all defenders with nine points on the season.
- Thirteen of Alvarez's 26 saves came in the third period. Dahill finished the night with 37 saves.
