HOW IT HAPPENED

  • McGarrity opened the scoring with a power play goal at 5:39 of the first period, finding junior Makayla Young at the blue line and depositing the rebound from Young's point shot past goaltender Jess Auge. Jayme McIlveen was also credited with an assist on the play.
  • The second period was scoreless but not without excitement.  The Roos appeared to go ahead 2-0 on a shot by junior Hannah Clement that looked like it rebounded off the back of the net.  Play was stopped, the officials conferred and determined that the puck hit the post and did not cross the goal line.  Excellent goaltending by Auge kept the score 1-0 despite the Roos outshooting the Bengals 20-3 in the period.
  • Snook was finally able to solve Auge at 7:50 of the third period, snapping home a wrist shot with Young and Clement picking up assists on the play.
