BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey faltered against Concordia University (WI), falling 7-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Ice Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Lilliana Adimey (Buffalo, NY/Syracuse Valley Eagles) recorded her first collegiate goal.
  • Angelina Cruzal (Camplbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) recorded her first assist of the season to move into a tie for the team lead in points.
  • Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Elite Southern Express) recorded her first collegiate point with an assist.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) made 37 saves in goal for the Bengals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Concordia opened up the scoring just under four minutes into the game, and then added another goal 90 seconds later to take an early 2-0 advantage.
  • Auge stopped 16 shots in the opening period to keep the deficit at two heading into the first intermission.
  • Isabela Noyle scored just 97 seconds into the second period to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead, snapping a wrist shot into the top right corner of the net.
  • A Concordia penalty with 10.7 seconds remaining in the period led to a goal for each side.
  • The Falcons scored a short-handed goal to take a 4-0 lead into the break, as Baileigh Johnson made a nifty move to beat a Buffalo State defender and scored with just two-tenths of a second left in the period.
  • Buffalo State reduced the deficit to three under a minute into the final period with a power-play goal. Running Rabbit skated into the offensive zone and behind the net, passed to Cruzal on the left side, who sent a centering pass to Adimey for a wrist shot that found the back of the net.
  • Johnson scored her second goal of the game for the Falcons to restore a four-goal advantage.
  • Concordia added two more power-play goals to reach the final 7-1 score.

FOR THE FOES

  • Johnson scored two goals and added an assist to lead Concordia, one of three Falcons to register three points in the game. Sarah Pearson scored once and assisted on two goals, while Emily Reimche had three assists.
  • Annalina Van Hercke made 15 saves to earn the victory in goal.
