PITTSBURGH, PA —The Buffalo State women's hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to Chatham in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Miya Silva (El Monte, CA/Anaheim) scored her first collegiate goal.
- Bethany Horvatits (Elma, NY/Cazenovia Chiefs) recorded a point for the second consecutive game, scoring her first career goal to tie the game in the third period.
- Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) made 45 saves in goal for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chatham needed just two minutes and 18 seconds to open the scoring in the first period, with Trinity Antonio scoring the goal to give the Cougars an early 1-0 advantage.
- Silva responded with a goal just five minutes later, knocking home the rebound after the initial shot by Amanda Jackson (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls Rapids) was saved.
- The score remained tied at 1-1 through the end of the period despite good chances by each team.
- At the midway point of the second period, a two-on-one opportunity for the Bengals was broken up by a Cougars defender.
- With under two minutes remaining in the second period, Auge made a great save to deny a Chatham attacker who had gotten behind the Bengals defense.
- Neither team was able to beat the opposing netminder in the second period despite 30 combined shots on goal by the teams.
- Four minutes into the final period, Auge denied Chatham on a breakaway opportunity.
- Chatham took the lead just three minutes later
- Just 30 seconds later, Horvatits tied the game once again, scoring unassisted.
- The Cougars scored a power-play goal for the game-winner with just over 11 minutes remaining.
- Buffalo State was unable to capitalize on a power play chance with six minutes remaining.
- The Cougars added an empty net goal for the final tally with less than a minute remaining.
