BUFFALO, N.Y - Oswego used a strong second-period to create separation and then held on for a 3-1 victory over host Buffalo State in an NEWHL game today at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period.
- Oswego turned it on in the second period, outshooting Buffalo State 19-7, and scored a pair of goals to extend its lead to 3-0.
- Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/Westmont) put the Bengals on the board with an unassisted power-play goal with 6:15 remaining in regulation when she intercepted a clearing attempt in the slot and wristed it into the top corner for her second goal of the season.
- Buffalo State was unable to draw any closer.
- Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) finished with 31 saves between the pipes as Oswego finished with a 34-20 advantage in shots on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Sara Cruise, Megan Teachout and Molly Evans all scored for the Lakers.
- Rachael Farmer made 19 saves.
