OSWEGO, N.Y. — Oswego scored a pair of goals in the third period and kept visiting Buffalo State in check to register a 2-0 victory today in NEWHL play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers outshot Buffalo State 27-13 over the first two periods, but Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) turned aside all 27 shots she faced to keep the game scoreless going into the final frame.
- Oswego finally broke through five minutes into the third period.
- Buffalo State drew a power play with 30 seconds remaining with a chance to tie, but the Lakers controlled the puck and iced the game with a shorthanded empty-net tally.
- Gawronski finished with 45 saves in the loss as the Bengals were outshot 47-27 for the game.
FOR THE FOES
- Annika Neufeld-Kreider and Sara Cruise scored for Oswego.
- Rachael Farmer made 27 saves for the shutout.
