CORTLAND, N.Y. – Sophomore Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) recorded her first career hat trick and added an assist, and sophomore goalie Chelsea Allain (Saratoga/Canterbury School) recorded her first career shutout as the Cortland women's ice hockey team defeated King's College, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Alumni Arena.

Juniors Emily King (Buffalo/Buffalo Regals) and Emily Rose (Clayton/Syracuse Nationals) each contributed a goal and an assist, junior Carly Weigold (Mahopac/Millbrook Mustangs) netted a goal and freshman Teryn Field (Cicero/Lysander Lightning) notched her first career goal for the Red Dragons (3-5-3).

Sophomore Olivia Wilburn (Stockton, CA/San Jose Sharks) and freshman Quinn Metcalfe (Churchville/Rochester Monarchs) collected two assists apiece for Cortland, while junior Allyson Edwards (Buffalo/Buffalo Regals), sophomores Kirsten MacDowell (Ottsville, PA/New Jersey Rockets) and Katie DeVoe (Mississauga, ON/Vaughan Flames) and freshman Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville/Amherst Knights) each picked up one assist.

Allain finished with six saves for the Red Dragons. Sophomore Emma Zeveney (St. Augustine, FL/Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) started in goal for King's (1-12), making 29 saves in 35:52. Sophomore goalie Kiva Sierra Stoltz (Petersburg, ON/North Halton Twisters) stopped 18 of the 19 shots she faced over the final 24:08.

Schnorr gave Cortland a 2-0 lead after the first period with a wrist shot just 2:39 into the game and a one-timer at 13:36. The lead grew to 6-0 after the second period. Rose scored on a shot through traffic 47 seconds into the period. Schnorr completed her hat trick with a power-play goal at 12:22. King netted her goal just 16 seconds later, and Weigold tallied a power-play goal at 15:52. Field completed the scoring with a wrist shot from the slot at 7:32 of the third period for the 7-0 final.
