PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team used a scoring showcase to hand host Plymouth State a 7-1 loss on Thursday afternoon. Oswego improves to 8-8-1 on the year while the Panthers drop to 4-8-4.

Oswego scored two goals in each of the contest's first two periods to lead 4-0 heading into the final intermission. The Lakers surrendered the only goal against early in the third period but responded with three tallies of their own to cruise to the 7-1 final.

Olivia Ellis paced Oswego on the evening with a three-point performance. The senior scored the Lakers game-winning goal at 18:47 of the first on a power-play. She went on to notch Oswego's final goal with just 46 seconds remaining in regulation off an assist from Philomena Teggart. Ellis' other point came on a primary assist on Andrea Noss' goal at 16:33 of the second. Noss' goal was Oswego's fourth of the tilt and the seventh of her season.

Also scoring twice on the afternoon was freshman Emma Morisette. Prior to Ellis' final goal, Morisette scored unassisted at 12:58 of the third which followed her power-play goal at 7:26 of the second to make it 3-0 Oswego. Morisette's first goal was assisted by Natalie Giglio and Teggart while her pair of scores brings her 2017-18 total to five.

Joining Ellis, Morisette and Noss in the scoring column were Jean-marie Padden and Kate Randazzo with one apiece. Randazzo also had an assist on the game-winning goal while Julieann White rounded out the Laker point-getters with a secondary assist on Noss' goal.

Mariah Madrigal made 17 saves in net to pick up the triumph and improve her season mark to 5-3-1.

The Lakers special teams were stellar on Thursday, with a 2-for-3 conversion rate on their power-plays while stopping Plymouth State on both of its chances.

As a team, the Lakers nearly tripled the Panthers shots on-goal output, posting 51 to just 18 by the home squad.

Oswego will now have the weekend off before heading to Buffalo State for a 4 p.m. puck drop on Friday, Jan. 26 to resume NEWHL play.
