Cortland’s Molly Goergen selected Goalie of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Cortland sophomore Molly Goergen (Eden Prairie, MN) has been named the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Goalie of the Week for the second consecutive time.

The honor is for games contested from Monday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 19, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Goergen posted a 2-0 record with a 2.00 GAA and an .895 save percentage in two home NEWHL victories last weekend as Cortland set a program record with its 19th win of the season.

Goergen set a record for career wins by earning her 26th in a 4-3 victory vs. Potsdam on Saturday, Feb. 18, eclipsing the mark she shared with Deanna Meunier who established the original mark from 2012-16.

Goergen registered 21 saves in a 3-1 win at Canton on Friday, Feb. 17, and stopped an additional 13 shots in the record-setting victory on Saturday.

For the season, Goergen has posted a 15-6 record with a 1.24 GAA, 450 saves, a .947 save percentage and a program-record nine shutouts.
