Cortland completes weekend sweep of Lebanon Valley

HERSHEY, PA. – The Cortland women's ice hockey team scored a goal in each period, and sophomore goalie Emily Steen (Windom, MN/Windom H.S.) posted her second consecutive shutout as the Red Dragons improved to 6-1-1 on the season with a 3-0 victory at Lebanon Valley College Sunday afternoon.

Senior Emily King (Buffalo/Buffalo Regals), junior Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) and sophomore Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville/Amherst Knights) each netted a goal for Cortland with Schnorr adding an assist. Junior Katie DeVoe (Mississauga, ON/Vaughan Flames) and freshmen Dany Donegan (Cicero/Syracuse Nationals) and Elena Eichmann (Fairport/Syracuse Nationals) collected one assist apiece.

Steen recorded eight saves in her second career starts, while goalie Shelby Guinard turned aside 44 shots for the Dutchmen (1-7-1).

Gaffney scored her fourth goal of the weekend and fifth of the season 13 seconds before the end of the first period to put Cortland ahead, 1-0. Schnorr duplicated Gaffney with her team-high sixth goal at 19:47 of the second period. King completed the scoring at 1:38 of the third period for the 3-0 final.
