BUFFALO, N.Y.—Nationally No. 1/2-ranked Plattsburgh netted a power-play goal and a shorthanded marker in a 3-0 win over host Buffalo State in an NEWHL game today to extend its winning streak to six while snapping the Bengals unbeaten stretch at five.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State and Plattsburgh skated to a scoreless first period with the Bengals hanging tight with the top-ranked Cardinals for much of the opening 20 minutes. Plattsburgh had a 10-5 advantage in shots, but six of those attempts came on a pair of power-play opportunities.
- The Cardinals took control in the second frame with a pair of special teams strikes and dominated shots by a 16-2 margin.
- Plattsburgh scored again early in the third period, but Buffalo State leveled play again and produced several quality scoring chances, including ringing a pair of shots off the goal post, but it could not break through.
- Justine Silva (El Monte, CA/Arroyo) finished with 32 saves as Plattsburgh ended the contest with a 35-15 advantage in shots on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Courtney Moriarty scored twice, and Ashley Songin also scored for Plattsburgh.
- Kassi Abbott made 15 saves for the shutout.
