She has earned a spot on the East's first team. Merrill is the first in program history to earn the honor.

    PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State head women's ice hockey coach Kevin Houle has been named a finalist for the CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year Award, as announced Monday by the AHCA. The award will be announced on Thursday, March 16, and presented on Friday, April 27, at the AHCA Convention in Naples, Fla.

Stafford Ice Arena. With the victory, Plattsburgh State extended its winning streak to 17 and earned the NEWHL's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

  • Roos Honor Alvarez, Finnish Mustangs in Finale (Canton Story)

    Potsdam, NY – Senior Sirena Alvarez has had many busy nights this season as the primary goaltender for the SUNY Canton women’s hockey team.  The team’s regular season finale was not one of them.  While Alvarez, who hails from Finland, only faced 12 shots on the night, she stopped them all earning her 13th shutout of her career placing her first all-time for the program.   The Roos earned a 2-0 victory over visiting SUNY Morrisville in a Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) matchup.
