Plattsburgh holding National Championship Celebration April 13

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Family, friends and fans of the Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team will have an opportunity to celebrate the Cardinals' 2019 NCAA Division III national championship in a celebration at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena on Saturday, April 13.

The day will begin with a 3 p.m. meet-and-greet with the women's ice hockey student-athletes, during which time they will be available to sign commemorative posters courtesy of Plattsburgh State Athletics, and at 4 p.m., a recognition ceremony will begin that will include speeches from various different individuals. A highlight video created to celebrate the team's championship will also be shown during that time.

The event is free of charge for the general public. Thanks to the Office of the President, Campus Dining and the Plattsburgh State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, refreshments will be provided. There will be a silent auction and a raffle, while donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey program.

Plattsburgh State won its fifth national championship in six years and its seventh overall in 2018-19, finishing the season with a record of 29-2-0 overall (16-0-0 NEWHL). The Cardinals also ended the year on an 18-game winning streak.
