MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Senior goalie
Justine Silva (El Monte, CA/Arroyo) made 45 saves, but it was not enough as visiting Buffalo State dropped a 2-0 decision against Morrisville State in tonight's season opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the team's first game under head coach Jennifer Wilson, Buffalo State started slow, being outshot 16-5 in the opening period and surrendering the game's first goal at the midway mark of the frame.
- Morrisville continued to apply pressure in the second period, but Silva turned aside all 15 shots she faced to keep the deficit at one heading into the final 20 minutes.
- The Bengals created some push in the final frame, mustering 10 shots on goal, but could not break through and the Mustangs added an empty-net tally in the final minute to seal the win.
- Morrisville was credited with a 47-19 advantage in shots on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Alexziz Giannamore scored Morrisville's first goal, and Kylie Cameron notched the empty-netter.
- Karoline Arvik finished with 19 saves for the shutout.
