Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) made 25 saves in her fisrst collegiate start to backstop Buffalo State to a 2-1 road victory over Oswego in an NEWHL contest today to salvage a weekend split.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers got on the scoreboard first with less than three minutes remaining in the first period.
- Buffalo State evened the score with Erin Gehen's (W. Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) second goal of the season from Kayla Kopinski (Elma, NY/Alden) and Courtney Cavarello (N. Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) early in the second frame.
- The Bengals slowed Oswego for the remainder of the middle frame, holding an 8-3 edge in shots.
- Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) netted what would prove to be the game-winner with an assist from Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/AZ Virtual Academy) midway through the third, and Buffalo State would hold off a late surge by the Lakers.
- Oswego finished with a 26-21 edge in shots, including 15-6 in the final 20 minutes

- Andrea Noss scored for Oswego, and Mariah Madrigal finished with 19 saves.
